Bruce Simms
Bruce E. Simms, 66, of Evans City, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
He was born on Oct. 24, 1956, in Pittsburgh, to the late Anthony R. “Moo” Simms and Wanda Simms.
A graduate of Fox Chapel High School and the A.W. Beatty Technical Institute, his love of fixing motor vehicles led to his ownership of A-1 Automotive in Evans City for many years.
His mechanical skills and ability to fix almost anything will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his brother, Paul Simms, and his wife Mary, of Butler; his nieces, Rachel Simms, Gretchen Wise, Lauren Simms, Catherine Simms, Caroline Simms and Elizabeth Simms; his nephew, Charles Simms; his stepchildren, Amber, Jimmy and Devon Delprete of Evans City; and his companion, Laura Crosby.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mark A. Simms.
SIMMS — Friends of Bruce E. Simms, who died Tuesday, July 18, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park, 380 Evans City Road, Butler.
Burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Bruce's honor in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Attn: Team Cardio for Caroline (Caroline Simms), 501 Martindale St., #670, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
