Bernard McTighe
Bernard McTighe, 84, of Butler, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
He was born in Pittsburgh, on Dec. 6, 1938, to the late Bernard and Luella (Gamble) McTighe Sr.
After graduating from Aspinwall High School in 1956 Bernard worked as a project manager for Raymond H. Smith Construction. After retirement, he drove for Diehl Auto.
Bernard was known for being a hard worker and a great husband and father, and he loved watching deer and turkey from his living room window. One of Bernard's passions was raising and showing Belgian draft horses which he did for decades. He was also a very giving man and was Santa Claus for Butler children for over 26 years. His most important memory was taking his family on the Appalachian Wagon Train annually for over 20 years.
Bernard was loved and will be forever missed. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Mann) McTighe since their marriage in 1960, and father of Melissa McTighe, Jay (Shellie) McTighe, Kevin (Angela) McTighe, Brian McTighe and John (April) McTighe. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his two sisters and brother.
MCTIGHE — Friends and family of Bernard McTighe, who died Tuesday, July 18, 2023, will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
