Barry Thomas Baur, 64, of Evans City, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer.

Barry was born on April 23, 1959, to Robert and Rosemarie (Schmalz) Baur, in Pittsburgh. He was Catholic by faith. After Barry graduated from Seneca Valley High School in 1977, he went on to start his own business in construction, known as Realty Maintenance, based out of Evans City.

Barry married Patty Love on May 9, 1981, and they had two children, Nicole and Shawn.

In 2020, Barry retired from his business after 38 years. He spent his time helping out at Marburger Dairy. Barry was an avid hunter and boater, and enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time at their river home on Brady’s Bend. Barry also enjoyed scuba diving, water skiing and snow skiing. Years ago, he built a cabin in Marionville, which he previously enjoyed. Above all, Barry was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, who will be dearly missed.

Barry leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 42 years, Patty (Love) Baur; his daughter, Nicole Baur of Prospect; his brother, Bob Baur, and his wife, Joan, of New Mexico; his sister, Debbie Stanionis, and her husband, Bob, of Florida; his father-in-law, Michael Love of Florida; his sister-in-law, Kathy Love of Florida; his brother-in-law, Robert Love of Pittsburgh; his beloved dogs, Lera and Puffy, and cat, Curious; numerous nieces and nephews; and several wonderful close friends.

Barry was preceded in death by his son, Shawn Baur, who passed away in 2002; his parents, Robert and Rosemarie Baur; his mother-in-law, Nell Love; and his sister-in-law, Nancy Love.

BAUR — Friends of Barry Thomas Baur, who died Saturday, July 15, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Bob Goosen officiating.

Barry will be laid to rest at Evans City Cemetery.
