2:07 p.m. Monday — Ashley Sherkosky, 18, of Butler was hurt when the car she was driving struck another car parked on Lincoln Avenue. Sherkosky, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Police said she was cited for careless driving.9:44 a.m. Monday — Jason J. Self, 36, of Butler allegedly violated his estranged wife's protective order at the Butler County Courthouse. Police later arrested Self at his home. A search turned up a suspected pill of the prescription painkiller Opana, or oxymorphone, a police report said.Self was arraigned on charges of violating the protection from abuse order and possession of a controlled substance, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $7,500 bail.9:07 a.m. Monday — Ryan Beatty, 30, is accused of assaulting his mother, 62-year-old Sandy Beatty, during a domestic dispute at their Mackey Avenue home. Beatty is charged with simple assault.Monday — A bicycle was stolen from a porch at a home in the 600 block of West Penn Street. The unknown thief cut the lock of the chain that was holding the bike to the porch. The bike, valued at $150, is a white, Tony Hawk model and has green rims.
4:57 p.m. Monday — Jeffrey Snyder, 49, of Butler was arrested after allegedly assaulting a 17-year-old Butler boy during a domestic dispute on Ravenhurst Lane. Snyder was arraigned on charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, and he was placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bail.Grove City PoliceJuly 5 — Two used stainless steel sinks were stolen from outside Steigerwald's Kitchen & Bath on South Broad Street. The scrap sinks were taken between July 1 and 5.
Tuesday — A battery charger was stolen in a burglary at a home on Moose Road in Connoquenessing Township. The battery, worth $100, was taken between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.Tuesday — Someone fired a gunshot into the side of a garage on Woodlands Road in Connoquenessing Township. The vandalism happened between July 2 and 12.9:21 p.m. July 2 — Dana L. Himes, 44, of Petrolia was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 68 near Bonniebrook Road in Oakland Township.
Tuesday — Nine feet of copper cable, an acetylene torch and a set of torch gauges were stolen from a home in the 400 block of Stoneboro Road in Wolf Creek Township. The property, valued at $200, was taken between 8:30 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. Tuesday.11:06 p.m. Monday — An unknown vandal shattered the windshield of a state police cruiser after throwing a large plastic cup full of an orange drink from an overpass on Interstate 79 in Worth Township, Butler County.The trooper was southbound on I-79 and spotted a dark-colored vehicle stopped on the West Liberty Road overpass. Two people were standing beside the vehicle that resembled a Pontiac Vibe.Police said as the trooper's patrol car neared the overpass, the cup with liquid was thrown and hit the windshield. The officer was not hurt.When the trooper activated his emergency lights, the two people on the overpass got in their vehicle and drove away west on West Liberty Road.Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 724-662-6162.5:15 p.m. Monday — An all-terrain vehicle stolen earlier this spring was found on Schmidt Road in Pine Township. The 2000 Polaris Xpedition was taken April 25 from a home in Rochester, Beaver County.
