Archie Robert Black
Archie Robert Black, 76, of Cabot died Wednesday at his home.
Born March 26, 1933, in West Deer Township, Allegheny County, he was the son of Archibald Black and Mary Kelly Black.
He was a truck driver for Air Products in Creighton and Ohlco Trucking in Saxonburg.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956.
He loved to farm, and he was a Jefferson Township constable for 48 years.
He was a member of the Saxonburg VFW, the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company and the Saxonburg American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce A. Jardin Black, who he married Oct. 6, 1956; his son, Clifford (Patty) R. Black of Cabot; five daughters, Cindy (Bob) Gallagher of Cabot, Cathy (Doug) Miller of Butler, Connie Black of Cabot, Carol (Gary) Freehling of Cabot and Chrisse (Duane) Keck of Cabot; two brothers, Oliver (Ruth) Black of Cabot and John (Janet) Black of Butler; his sister, Agnes Smith of Oceanside, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and seven sisters.
<B>BLACK</B> — Friends of Archie Robert Black, who died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Alden Towberman officiating.
