McCandless

Gary Lyle “Skinner” McCandless, 62, of Renfrew, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at his home.

He was born Sept. 3, 1960, in Butler, the son of the late George Leland and Georgette (Hapsic) McCandless.

Skinner was a member of the Sons of Italy and the Butler American Legion Post 117. He worked at Huckstein Printing and enjoyed umpiring softball and baseball games.

Surviving are his two daughters, Christy McCandless, of Lexington, Ky. and Rachel McCandless, of Pittsburgh; 11 grandchildren; his sister, Linda (Art) Bowman, of West Sunbury; three brothers, Bruce (Debbie) McCandless, Dale McCandless and Randy (Sue) McCandless, all of West Sunbury.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Don McCandless.

MCCANDLESS — A celebration of life for Gary Lyle “Skinner” McCandless, who died Tuesday, July 11, 2023, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the American Legion Post 117, 413 S. Main St., Butler.

Arrangements are under the direction of YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.
