Robert Wellman

Wellman

Robert Clifford “Bob” Wellman, 68, of Renfrew, peacefully passed away in his sleep with his son by his side early Saturday, July 8, 2023. His death was due to complications related to a stroke.

Born Sept. 27, 1954, in Hagerstown, Md., he was a son of Madeline D’Amico Wellman and the late Herbert W. “Bud” Wellman.

He was a member of All Saints Parish, Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church.

Bob spent the majority of his youth traveling with the General Butler Vagabonds drum corps and competing in rifle shooting at the high school and collegiate levels. He was an NCAA Top 10 All-American in .22-caliber small-bore three-position shooting.

He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Shortly after graduating, Bob discovered his love for sales and entered the janitorial sanitation industry, which provided him the opportunity to further travel the country for the next 40 years.

Bob was a manager for National Chemical Laboratories Inc.

Loved ones will recall his fondness of Häagen-Dazs coffee ice cream floats with Sprite, drive-in movie theaters, Santana, Pink Floyd, shooting ranges and fishing. Bob will be remembered as someone who, no matter the circumstance, helped family, friends, co-workers and strangers in times of need.

Bob is survived by one daughter, Maria Wellman; one son, Robert Wellman; his mother, Madeline Wellman; three brothers, Herb Wellman, Paul Wellman and Timothy Wellman; one sister, Mary Anne Bryndal; his former wife, Becky Wellman; and close family friend, Dana Malovich.
