Betty B. Matous, 85, of Butler, formerly of Bakerstown, Valencia and Mars, passed away on Friday morning, July 7, 2023, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pittsburgh, on Feb. 14, 1938, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen Glee Broxton.

Betty had been an optician at her family's business, Matous Opticians, in North Hills.

She was an active member of the South Butler Assembly of God, and when she resided at Penn Mar Plaza in Mars, she was active in the tenants association and participated in the senior center there.

Surviving are her daughter, Bonnie Golla (Frank) of Mars; her son, David J. Matous (Diana) of North Hills; her granddaughter, Lyndsey Golla of Mars; and a sister, Helen Miller (Steve) of Jay, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald W. Matous, whom she married on June 17, 1961, and who died on April 30, 1989.

MATOUS — Friends of Betty B. Matous, who died Friday, July 7, 2023, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. George Bender officiating.

Burial will be in Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless Township.
