Allen Whitehouse
Allen Jay Whitehouse, 81, of Cranberry Township, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023, while under the care of AHN Wexford Hospital.
Born July 9, 1941, in Butler, he was the son of the late Allen and Sarah Elizabeth Black Whitehouse.
Jay proudly served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked as a licensed surveyor with Kaiser Engineering, Dick Building Company and Mascaro Construction Co. He also obtained an engineering license out of Fort Lauderdale for the state of Florida. He enjoyed motorcycling and Jeeps. He also enjoyed hunting with his nephew, Jonathan. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sisters, Elaine Brown, of St. Augustine, Fla., Alicia Brozeck, of Swissvale, Pa. and Norma Ellison, of Pompano, Fla.; his nephews, William “Bill” Brown and Allen Brown, both of Gainesville, Fla.; and his best friend, Mark (Kathleen) Harmon; and their children, Shirlann Harmon and Jonathan Harmon, all of Evans City.
Jay was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia “Ginny” Ritz Whitehouse, who passed away on Feb. 6, 2018.
WHITEHOUSE — A committal service for both Jay and Ginny will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023, at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville. Jay will be laid to rest with full military honors.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
