Mary L. Werner, 89, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at her residence while surrounded by her loving family.

Born May 10, 1934, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Teresa (Granata) Russo.

Mary worked as a receptionist for Dr. Han; she retired in 2006 following 24 years of service.

She was a member of the Penn Township Women’s Club for many years. She was also a member of the Penn Valley Athletic Club, where she enjoyed many summers with her family. Mary was an avid quilter, and she was of the Roman Catholic faith.

Surviving are sons and daughters, Randal (Anne) Werner, Cheryl (Jeffrey) Werner Hall, both of Butler, Dr. Christopher (Belinda) Werner, of Chalfont, Pa., and Cathleen (Brian) Werner Ferne and Loren (Ronald) Werner Hartman, both of Butler.

Also surviving are Mary’s eight loving grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph G. Werner who passed away May 19, 2020; they were married Sept. 6, 1954. She also was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynn Werner Kiermaier.

WERNER — A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sept. 23, 2023 at All Saints Parish, St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler.

Arrangements under the direction of GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

Memorial donations may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
