Thomas G. Mellish, 73, of East Brady, Sugarcreek Township, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at ACMH Hospital in Kittanning.

He was born in Sugarcreek Township, on Tuesday, June 6, 1950, the son of Anthony E. and Anna (Glynn) E. Mellish.

Tom was a 1968 graduate of East Brady High School. He then entered and graduated from Indiana University. He was employed as a schoolteacher for 40 years, first in West Virginia where he resided for several years, and when he moved back to the area, he worked as a substitute teacher for Armstrong School District for several more years. He was also a co-owner of the Mellish Farm in Sugarcreek Township.

He enjoyed his friends, yard sales, watching football and his favorite TV show “Jeopardy.”

He is survived by his brothers, Richard and James; two sisters, Mary Ann Rawson of Pittsburgh and Kathy Mellish of East Brady; two nephews, Jose and Mark Balza of Pittsburgh; and a great-nephew.

Tom’s parents, Anthony E. Mellish and Anna E. (Glynn) Mellish, preceded him in death.

MELLISH — Services for Thomas G. Mellish, who died July 1, 2023, were private. Interment was in St. Patrick Cemetery, Sugarcreek, with Father Victor Baguna officiating.
