Lewis H. Hundertmark
Lewis H. Hundertmark, 96, of Freeport died peacefully at 7 a.m. Wednesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot.
Born in Freeport, Sept. 26, 1910, he was the son of Edward and Mary Ferne Hundertmark.
He served as a Navy gunner's mate third class in the Pacific during World War II.
He had been a foreman at the Schenley Distillery for 37 years and retired in 1968.
Mr. Hundertmark was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Freeport.
He enjoyed playing golf and all other sports and had played semi-pro baseball for the Freeport Merchants.
He was a member of the Freeport VFW, the Eagles Club, the Freeport F&AM Lodge and the Schenley American Legion. He also was a member of the Freeport Volunteer Fire Department, the Armstrong County Fireman's Association and the Western Pennsylvania Fireman's Association.
Surviving is a niece, Susan Ann (Frank) Tayler of McMurry.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Chester and Robert and Frank, who was killed in WWII.
<B>HUNDERTMARK </B>— Friends of Lewis H. Hundertmark, who died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>REDMOND FUNERAL HOME</B>, 524 High St., Freeport. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Freeport, with the Rev. James Neal officiating. Burial will be at the Freeport Cemetery.The Freeport Volunteer Fire Department will hold a service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral.Donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 323 Fifth St., Freeport, PA 16229.
