Wildlife handling is inhumane, risky
I am very upset with the game commission’s decision to allow many more people in Pennsylvania to handle wild animals for the profit of exhibitors.
In April, the Pennsylvania Game Commission voted to allow roadside zoos and fairs to sell public contact experiences.
This increase in opportunities for members of the public to handle animals is cruel and dangerous. In my opinion, wild animals used in these exhibits are overbred and infants are taken from their mothers prematurely. Baby animals are subject to rough and excessive handling.
This is definitely a step backwards for our state. I urge the PGC to reconsider this dangerous and cruel decision.
