Eleanora M. Michel, 99, of Herman died Tuesday evening at Good Samaritan Hospice, Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot.

Born Nov. 19, 1908, in West Franklin Township, Armstrong County, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Sarah (Rodgers) Edgington.

She was a 1935 graduate of Slippery Rock Normal School, and she also attended the Clarion and Indiana Normal schools, which are now universities. She taught elementary grades in Worthington schools for 16 years and then taught at the Duff School-Brady School in Clearfield Township and the Butler School District for 29 years until her retirement in 1971.

She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman, the A.A.R.P and the ladies auxiliary of the Herman Volunteer Fire Department. She was a former director and volunteer at the Tanglewood Senior Center in Butler.

Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence M. Michel, who died Sep. 23, 1975. As the last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

<B>Michel </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Eleanora M. Michel, who died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.
