Butler graduate Kim Nowakowski was 4-for-4 from the floor and scored 10 points off the bench as the California (Pa.) University women's basketball team took over sole possession of first place in the PSAC-West with a dominating 82-49 win over Edinboro Saturday.
Nowakowski, a freshman for the Vulcans, is averaging 10.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for Cal (15-2 overall, 3-0 on conference play).
Butler graduate and St. John Fisher point guard Adria Matonak was 4-for-6 from 3-point range and finished with 11 points, six rebounds and six steals as the Cardinals' women's basketball team remained unbeaten with a 72-60 win over Utica College Friday night.St. Fisher College (14-1) is ranked No. 24 in the NCAA Div. III national poll. The team suffered its first loss Saturday.
Derrick Hays assisted on goals by Chris Glover and Eric Klopfar as the Butler freshmen hockey team defeated Fox Chapel 2-1 recently.
