Alison Jean Como
Alison Jean Como, 20, of 689 Latonka Drive, Coolspring Township, Mercer County, died at 12:17 p.m. Monday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, of injuries sustained in a car accident.
Born Dec. 13, 1987, in Ravenna, Ohio, she was the daughter of Thomas and Robin Kagy Como.
She was a Baptist.
A 2006 graduate of Mercer High School, she was a sophomore at Slippery Rock University, where she was a community health major working toward a degree in occupational therapy.
She played soccer for 13 years. She was a three-year letter winner on the Mercer girls varsity soccer team, where she served as a team co-captain for two years. She was named to the All-Region 1 team two consecutive years and was named to the Mercer-Lawrence County Senior All-Star Match.
She enjoyed writing.
Surviving are her parents of Mercer; a brother, Dylan Como of Grove City; her maternal grandmother, Emogene and her husband, Robert T. McAnallen, of Mercer; and her paternal grandparents, Anna Marie Como of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and Frank Como of Thompson Station, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Dale Kagy.
<B>COMO </B>— Friends of Alison Jean Como, who died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 1344 S. Pitt St.,Mercer. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gene Habbyshaw II, pastor of New Fellowship Baptist Church, officiating.Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercer Area School District for girls soccer team, 545 W.
