As a member of the Auto Racing media for many years, I must give a shout out to someone in the sports department for being so heads-up to add the line in the recent AP story on Ryan Blaney’s NASCAR race win at Charlotte by adding in that he is the grandson of Lou Blaney, a multiple time track champion at the Lernerville Speedway.

In my many years of writing and announcing at area tracks, I have written and announced Lou Blaney many times. A class act and a legend in Penn-Ohio dirt track racing. Glad to see the Eagle make mention of him, as I believe that many area racing fans who watched Lou Blaney race follow his grandson to see how he does in NASCAR.
