Geraldine Hosack

Geraldine "Gerry" Mortimer Ramsey Hosack, 83, of Sumter, S.C., died Nov. 28 at the home of her daughter.

Born Jan. 1, 1925, in Rimersburg, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Elise Magee Mortimer.

Retired from Butler Petroleum as a bookkeeper, she moved to Santee, S.C., in 2002.

She graduated from Rimersburg High School and Welches Business College.

She was a member of the Christ Community United Methodist Church in Butler and attended the Church of the Epiphany, Eutawville, S.C. She also was a member of the Eastern Star, Clarion Chapter 267, and the Elks Auxiliary Lodge 170 of Butler.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rosalyn "Roz" Ramsey Dickson Moran and Ray Moran of Sumter; a son, Kevin D. Ramsey of Seattle, Wash.; brothers, Paul Mortimer of Gay, W.Va., and James Mortimer of East Brady; and three sisters, LaRue Daw of Butler, Phyllis Smith of State College and Judy Rankin of Charlotte, Mich. She leaves eight grandchildren, Andrew Dickson, Roger Dickson, Emily Austin, Laura Minnich, Phillip Ramsey, Katie Ramsey, Ralaine Floate and Kerry Moran; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Mortimer Jr., and sisters, Faye Miller and Vivian Stewart.

<B>HOSACK</B> — A memorial service and burial for Geraldine "Gerry"Mortimer Ramsey Hosack, who died Friday, Nov. 28, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut, with Pastor Howard Burrell officiating.The family has chosen the <B>Bullock Funeral Home and Crematorium </B>of Sumter for the arrangements.
