Butler grads shine on college tracks
A number of Butler graduates have done well in recent conference track and field meets involving their local schools.
Liz Sims, a senior at Davidson, ran a leg of her team’s 4x800 meter relay that placed second at the Atlantic 10 Championships in a time of 8 minutes, 55.08 seconds. She made the All-Atlantic 10 team as a result.
Megan Penrod, a freshman at Duquesne, placed eighth in the javelin at the Atlantic 10 Championships with a throw of 126 feet, 8 inches.
CJ Singleton, a freshman at Notre Dame, made All-Atlantic Coast Conference by placing sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 8:43.85.
Brayden Young, a freshman at Bucknell, ran a leg of his team’s 4x100 meter relay team that placed fourth at the Patriot League Championships with a time of 41.58 seconds.
Brett Brady, a senior at Navy, made All-Patriot League by placing second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:52.81.
