Butler Police6:15 p.m. Tuesday — Angela M. Lascuola, 31, of Butler was charged with retail theft after she allegedly tried to leave Kmart on Hansen Avenue without paying for several items valued at a total of $87.Butler Township Police6:45 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Lindsie Varva crashed into the barrier along Route 8 on Armco Hill, south of Butler. Varva suffered unknown injures and was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital. She was cited for careless driving and a seat belt violation.
State Police, Butler6 p.m. Thursday — Someone stole firewood belonging to Robert Hall of Slippery Rock from a driveway along West Park Road in Slippery Rock between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday. The suspects also caused turf damage during the theft.5:30 p.m. Wednesday — Someone pried the locks off two concession stands at Laura Doerr Park in Jefferson Township, causing about $20 in damage, then stole $100 in cash from inside between 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The suspects also drove onto one of the baseball fields, causing about $100 in turf damage.2:26 a.m. May 21 — Richard Alwine, 34, of Saxonburg was charged with DUI following a traffic stop at the intersection of Bonniebrook and Jones roads in Jefferson Township.
Grove City Police4 p.m. Tuesday — A vehicle driven by a 17-year-old individual hit pedestrian Cathy Crable, 62, of Ellwood City after Crable stepped onto Madison Avenue from behind a stopped car, according to police. Both Crable and the driver of the car were taken to Grove City Medical Center with unknown injuries.Tuesday — Dorothy Martin, 49, of Grove City was charged with burglary and criminal trespass after she allegedly walked into a Grove City residence without permission.6:29 p.m. May 16 — John Holland, 69, of Mercer was charged with retail theft after he allegedly took items without paying from the Salvation Army on Main Street.
State Police, Mercer9:50 p.m. Wednesday — A SUV driven by Joann McHugh, 47, of Sandy Lake crashed into a tree which had fallen across Lytle School Road near Booher Road in Sandy Lake Township. McHugh suffered a minor injury and was taken by ambulance to UPMC Greenville Hospital.9:56 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Joshua K. Stanton, 30, of West Middlesex and a pickup truck driven by Thomas S. Adams, 30, of Volant collided on Route 318 near its intersection with Route 468 in East Lackawannock Township. Stanton and Adams were not injured. Joshua Stanton’s passenger, Rachelle Stanton, 22, of West Middlesex suffered a minor injury. Joshua Stanton was cited for driving at unsafe speed.
