4:33 p.m. Friday — A Butler couple was injured when its sport utility vehicle struck a street sign and tree along West Penn Street near Broad Street. Leo Weiland, 74, the driver, and his passenger, Sally Weiland, 73, were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.1:42 p.m. Friday — Three people were hurt in a three-vehicle, chain-reaction crash at North Main and East Brady streets.The accident happened when a car driven by Jennifer Williams, 26, of Prospect struck the rear of a car driven by Bryce Kirschner, 36, of Cranberry Township. Kirschner's car, in turn, was forced into the rear of a car driven by Zane Perry, 18, of Center Township.Perry and his passenger, Chelsea Perry, 24, of Center Township, and Williams were treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor to moderate injuries.Friday — Police filed a bad check charge against Timothy Ryan Donnelly, 25, of Butler, who is accused of bouncing a $113.52 check Aug. 2 at Friedman's on West Brady Street. The check was written on an account with insufficient funds, a police report said.Thursday — Several brass grates worth $300 were stolen in the evening from a storm drain in the 100 block of South Main Street.11:54 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Erin O'Donnell, 37, of Chicora struck the rear of a pickup truck at South Main and East Diamond streets. Marilyn Merbach, 74, of Saxonburg was driving the pickup.

7:45 p.m. Sunday — A car driven by Emily Bergonzi, 26, of Erie struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township.Sunday — An unknown burglar stole guns, jewelry, a television, a DVD player and a knife from a home in the 100 block of South Franklin Street in Prospect. The break-in occurred between 10 a.m. Friday and 7:30 p.m. Sunday.Sunday — Two remote control trucks and Sony PlayStation and Nintendo Wii game systems were among the property stolen in an overnight burglary at a home in the 800 block of Saxonburg Boulevard in Clinton Township. In all, items valued at $2,215 were stolen, police said.11:55 p.m. Saturday — Robert Fowler, 41, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup crashed into the side of a building at Route 422 and West Old Route 422 in Franklin Township. Fowler was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for unspecified injuries.2:48 p.m. Saturday — Cars driven by Matthew L. Brown, 25, of Saxonburg and Scott Lipke, 43, of Prospect collided at Route 488 and 528 in Prospect.12:15 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Julie M. Kriley, 18, of Saxonburg crashed and rolled on Victory Road in Clinton Township. Police said Kriley was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.8:30 p.m. Friday — A van driven by James E. Anderson, 46, of Chicora crashed into an embankment and rolled onto its roof on Cherry Road in Fairview Township. Police said Anderson, who was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, was cited for careless driving.11:40 p.m. Wednesday — An unknown driver fled a car that crashed into a ditch and rolled onto its roof on McGregor Road near Sutton Lane in Clay Township.

9:25 a.m. Sunday — A pickup truck driven by Matthew L. Welteroth, 41, and a van driven by Herbert K. Steele, 78, both of Freeport collided at Route 128 and Brown Road in South Buffalo Township. Police said Steele was taken to ACMH Hospital in Kittanning with minor injuries.1:55 p.m. Friday — A pickup driven by Corrin M. Hillwig of Worthington struck a utility pole after spinning out of control on Claypoole Road near East Main Street in West Franklin Township. Police said Hillwig was cited for driving with worn tires.

Saturday — Several boxes of Fenton glassware were stolen from a Barkeyville Road home in Pine Township. The theft occurred between Oct. 5 and Saturday.8:55 p.m. Wednesday — Christopher A. Defelice, 18, of Grove City escaped from the George Junior Republic juvenile detention center in Pine Township. Police said Defelice fled the facility while being taken for drug and alcohol counseling. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-662-6162.Friday — Police charged Kimberly L. Harnett, 49, of Grove City with driving under the influence stemming from a Sept. 7 traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Lackawannock Township. In addition to DUI, Harnett is charged with three traffic violations.
