Butler woman accused of having drugs in child’s bedroom
Stamp bags of suspected fentanyl, syringes and a jar of suspected methadone in a 7-year-old’s bedroom resulted in charges for a Butler woman Tuesday, May 2.
Butler County detectives charged Brandi P. Zediker, 26, with child endangerment and misdemeanors use and possession of drug paraphernalia after an at-home check from her probation officer.
According to police, a probation officer visited Zediker’s home April 26 and found her impaired in her 7-year-old daughter’s room.
Empty stamp bags, spoons with fentanyl residue and syringes were found in the girl’s dresser drawer among her clothing, officers said, and on the nightstand was an uncapped needle and a small Mason jar of red liquid, later identified as methadone.
An assortment of clonazepam and gabapentin capsules were found throughout the room.
According to police, Zediker’s purse was located in the girl’s room, and 40 stamp bags of fentanyl/heroin were discovered inside it.
Officers noted that all of the paraphernalia was easily accessible in the room, “creating an extreme danger to a 7-year-old child.”
Zediker’s preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
Zediker also was charged with two misdemeanors of use and possession of drug paraphernalia in January, documents show. Her preliminary hearing in that case is scheduled for June.
