Dale 'Roscoe' M. Staiger
Dale “Roscoe” M. Staiger, 54, of Slippery Rock passed away at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice after an extended battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born May 24, 1956, in Grove City, the son of Merle D. Staiger and the late Irene H. Kuspert Staiger.
He was a member of St. John's Methodist Church.
He was a 1974 graduate of Slippery Rock High School.
Dale was a truck driver for Cooper Block, now Sidley's, and was a licensed concrete technician.
He loved the outdoors, cooking, gardening and canning hot peppers.
He is survived by his fiancee, Laural Tubbs of Grove City; his father, Merle D. Staiger of Slippery Rock; two sisters, Mrs. William (Barbara) Rock of West Sunbury and Mrs. Frank (Faith) Barron of Slippery Rock; one brother, Donald (Helen) Staiger of Slippery Rock; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Snickers.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by an infant brother.
<B>STAIGER </B>— Friends of Dale “Roscoe” M. Staiger, who died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, will be received at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Thursday. The family also will receive friends at St. John’s Methodist Church, Halston Road, Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. The Rev. David Ealy, his pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the VNA Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler PA 16001.
