8:58 a.m. Wednesday — No one was injured when a minivan ended up under the trailer of a big rig at North Washington and West New Castle streets.Shelly Lewis, 47, of Butler, the van driver, traveled under the center portion of the 48-foot trailer driven by Travus Whitehead, 30, of South Fork, Cambria County, which was making a left turn at the time.10:34 p.m. Saturday — Gerald A. Simpson, 35, of Pittsburgh was arrested after allegedly running from and struggling with police called to investigate a parking complaint on Wyle Avenue.Officers on the case asked to see Simpson's identification; however, he had none, according to court documents, and gave police a false name and other personal information.When police tried to handcuff Simpson, the suspect ran away but was tackled. Still, police said, he resisted officers' efforts to cuff him. During the struggle, one of the officer's duty belts was broken.Simpson was arraigned on charges of resisting arrest, presenting false identification to law enforcement authorities, criminal mischief and illegally parking. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail, following arraignment.

Wednesday — Police charged John E. Bednar III, 22, of Butler with using a Connoquenessing Township woman's bank debit card without her permission to remove $180 from her bank account. Bednar allegedly took the card from the woman's wallet and used it at a Butler Township store between July 18 and 19.Bednar is charged with access device fraud, theft and receiving stolen property.3:23 p.m. Tuesday — Two people were hurt when a sport utility vehicle driven by Keith E. Barnhart, 61, of Chicora and a motorcycle driven by Joshua A. Cooper, 31, of Parker collided at Route 38 and Thorn Run Road in Summit Township. Barnhart, who was wearing a seat belt, and Cooper, who was wearing a helmet, suffered unknown injuries.Tuesday — An unknown burglar smashed several windows at a Florida woman's camp on Book Road about three-tenths of a mile north of Fisher Road in Worth Township. A glass pane to an antique hutch also was broken. Police said unspecified property worth $500 was stolen. The break-in happened between July 28 and Tuesday.

8:18 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Alicia A. Palmer, 22, of Parker spun out and struck a guardrail on Route 268 south of the Foxburg Bridge in Hovey Township, Armstrong County. Police said Palmer was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.Tuesday — Four bicycles worth a combined $4,550 were stolen from a garage in a burglary at a home on Cadogan-Slatelick Road in North Buffalo Township. The bikes were taken between 8 p.m. Saturday and 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.
