Park predicament in Slippery Rock
The recognition of the volunteers at Preston Park is nice. The work they do is a benefit to the community and provides a pleasant environment for recreation and relaxation for the community.
On the other hand, the Passive Park at Phase VIII of Poplar Forest in Slippery Rock Borough has been maintained exclusively by volunteers for about 20 years until last fall, when the volunteers were issued a cease-and-desist order by the borough which has done nothing whatsoever to maintain this community resource.
