Samantha Robb represented Knoch High School at the National Association for Music Education All-Eastern Honors Chorus Festival from April 13 to 16 in Rochester, N.Y. She joined students from 11 Northeastern states, Washington, D.C., and parts of Europe, to perform in the Treble Chorus under the direction of Dr. Kristina MacMullen, from the University of North Texas.

Vivian Palmer of Zelienople has been named to the fall 2022 chancellor's list at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Students receiving a 3.9 grade point average or higher are placed on the chancellor's list to recognize outstanding academic achievements.

Slippery Rock University recognized several students at its Celebration of Achievement ceremony April 11 in the Smith Student Center.
Jenna Kriley, a senior biology major from Butler, received an Outstanding Students in Research, Scholarship or Creative Activity award.
Outstanding Student Academic Leaders awards which recognize students from each of SRU's five colleges based on their outstanding leadership within an academic department or college went to Morgan Conrad, a senior exercise science senior from Seven Fields, Doug Moore, a graduate student majoring in secondary education from Evans City, and Brandon Pierce, a senior strategic communication and media major from Gibsonia.
SRU President's Award recipients, consisting mostly of SRU employees, were also recognized at the Celebration of Achievement.

Megan Zukowski of Mars has been selected to be a member of the 110th Class of the Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society at Ohio State University. She demonstrated her commitment to the Mortar Board ideals of scholarship, leadership and service.
Zukowski is a 2020 graduate of Mars High School.

Seventh- , eighth- and ninth-grade students in the Karns City Area School District recently participated in the PMEA District 5 Band Fest. They are Joey Painter, trombone; Molly Ace, trumpet; Ellie Peterson, trumpet; Grayce Mealey, clarinet; Jessica Rodgers, French horn; and Jolynn Neal, clarinet.

Ellie Howell, a Wake Forest University sophomore and Mars Area High School Class of 2021 graduate, performed a duet with Tony Award-winning actress and singer Kristen Chenoweth at the university’s student-led Face-to-Face Speaker Forum on April 13.
At the conclusion of the event, Chenoweth surprised Howell, a history major with a theater minor, with an invitation to sing with her on stage. The pair received a standing ovation for their performance of “For Good” from the Broadway musical “Wicked.”
At Mars high school, Howell was nominated for a 2021 Henry Mancini Musical Theatre Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Donna Sheridan in school’s production of “Mamma Mia!” Howell also played Cinderella in the school’s 2021 spring play, “Game of Tiaras,” as well as Mrs. Potts in the 2019 production of “Beauty and the Beast.”
