The Rev. Donald James "Jim" MacDonald II, 71, died Nov. 15 at his home in Francistown, Botswana, in the arms of his wife, Samba, and family.

He was the son of the late Donald J. and Olive D. MacDonald of Unionville in Center Township.

Ordained in 1984, the Rev. MacDonald was the former executive director of the Harrisburg Bethesda Mission and most recently co-founder of the Botswana Alcohol Aids Project, which offers addiction treatment services and training in Botswana.
