The Smiths in 1958

David and Peg Smith of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage March 1 with a dinner for family and friends at the American Legion.

Smith married the former Peg Kamerer on March 1, 1958, in Monessen.

They have four children, Kimberly Smith of Butler, Sherry Clever of Renfrew, Sheila Sutton of Parker and Debora Byers of Butler.

They also have nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Smith is retired from Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center and currently drives cars for car dealers as a pastime. He also enjoys traveling and is a life member of the American Legion and the VFW.

Mrs. Smith is retired from Armco Country Club. She enjoys bingo and helping others. She is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
