Suspected drug dealer found in city bushes

Butler police arrested a suspected drug dealer after he ended up unconscious in shrubbery along a city street, according to court documents.

Christopher B. Carter, 27, of Pittsburgh is in the Butler County Prison on $75,000 bail. He faces felony and misdemeanor drug charges.

Police found Carter shortly after they got a call about 4:40 p.m. Saturday reporting a man sleeping in bushes on Kittanning Street. An officer had to shake the unresponsive suspect for about 30 seconds before he awakened, police said.

Carter appeared under the influence of drugs, documents said, and he had what appeared to be fresh track marks on his left arm.

Police searched him and found suspected crack cocaine in 21 individually knotted plastic bag corners, documents said. He also had a used syringe, crack pipe, other drug contraband and three stamp bags of suspected heroin.

Police said he admitted shooting up five bags of heroin earlier.

While treating Carter, a medic asked him if he got “messed up” after coming to Butler to sell crack.

He allegedly replied, ”Yeah, I guess,” documents said.

Carter is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and public drunkenness.

A preliminary hearing was not immediately scheduled.
