Cranberry EMS to host virtual Save a Live Saturday

CRANBERRY TWP — For the eighth year, Cranberry Township Emergency Medical Service will host its Save a Live Saturday.

Like virtually all other annual events, however, this year’s will be held online and some services typically available will be missing.

At noon Saturday, CTEMS will host its survivor reunion ceremony, in which patients who suffered a sudden cardiac arrest will reunite with the bystanders who initiated CPR and the first responders who were at the scene.

It’s exceedingly rare for someone to survive a cardiac arrest outside of the hospital, but two survivors will participate in the reunion.

Unlike in past years, CTEMS will not offer CPR training at the event due to this year’s virtual nature.

Information on how to join the event, which is held via Microsoft Teams, is available on the Cranberry Township website.

Attendees can also dial in by calling 717-481-3917 and entering the conference ID, 592 830 919#.
