Mildred Kane, 85, of Prospect died Tuesday night at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 18, 1923, in James City, Elk County, and was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Troja Skerl.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Christopher at the Lake Catholic Church in Prospect, and for years, she was the secretary of the Prospect Boys Club.

Survivors include one daughter, Ann Marie Curtis of Butler; one son, James Kane of Kane; a sister, Stella Bailey of Allentown; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded by her husband, John Kane, who died June 14, 1984; and by one brother.

<B>KANE </B>— There will be no public visitation. A family funeral service for Mildred Kane, who died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, will be held Friday at the <B>Jay Bryan Funeral Home</B> in Prospect with the Rev. Rob Allison of the Presbyterian Church of Prospect officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Prospect.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Butler County Area Agency on Aging.
