County gridders earn Pa. all-academic honors

Numerous Butler County area high school football players have earned berths on the Pennsylvania Football News All-Academic Team for the 2022 season.

Players must maintain a 4.0 grade point average to earn this recognition.

Butler, Freeport, Karns City, Mars and Union/A-C Valley all have players on the team. Pa. Football News will continue to add players to the list as schools report the information.

Here is the updated list thus far:

Butler (5) — Alex Catalfano RB-DB, Keagan Bracken Ol-DL, Lance Slater WR-DB, Max Gianneski K and Ryan McLister WR-LB.

Freeport (8) — Sean Sellinger LB-LS, Brady Stivenson WR-DB, Brady Paga OT-DT, Jacob Bollinger OL-LB, Zach Clark RB-LB, Dean Furer WR-DE, Payton Westendorf OL-DL and Isaac Wetzel P-K.

Karns City (2) — Mason Bell RB-DE and Shane Peters TE-DE.

Mars (15) — Sean Franklin OL-DL, Thomas Dressen WR-DB, Nico Salvini WR-LB, Adam Rohrbaugh WR-DB, Benjamin Ames WR-DB, Braden Schmitt WR-LB, Brady Jordan WR-DB, Cole Yoshioka LB, Dayton Schuckert DL, Ethan Wolf OL-LB, Liam Hein WR-DB, Logan Becker WR-DL, Nathan Tak RB, Nick Rushe OL-DL and Zachary Ruffner OL-DL.

Union/A-C Valley (3) — Aidan Fox WR-DB, Kaiden McNany Ol-DL and Ryan Cooper WR-DB.
