4:05 p.m. Monday — Michelle Lynn Schaeffer, 19, of Butler allegedly stole $180.80 in groceries from the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Schaeffer is charged with retail theft.
Tuesday — Police charged Paul W. McDonald, 39, of Butler with loitering and prowling at night, for allegedly attempting to look into a window of aWalker Avenue home Jan. 30.11:13 p.m. Monday — Krista Lynn Artman, 27, was arrested for allegedly assaulting Derrick Artman during a domestic dispute at the couple's Mercer Street home. Police said the suspect punched Derrick Artman in the face; he suffered minor injuries.Krista Artman was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $1,500 bail.8:47 p.m. Monday — Stacy Sebring of Butler Township reported that her purse was taken from her vehicle parked outside a coin-operated laundry on Pillow Street. The silver-colored purse contained a small wallet with about $25 and a purple Motorola cell phone.5:59 p.m. Monday — A brother and sister were both arrested when a sibling argument ended in a physical altercation at an East Walnut Street home, police said. Jouline Walker, 19, and Alfred W. Sutton, 31, both of Butler, are charged with simple assault.4:52 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Manuel Moreno, 80, of Jefferson Township crashed into a light pole at West New Castle Street and Hansen Avenue, damaging the traffic control box.Thursday — Sandra K. Burke told police that $350 was taken from her vehicle parked in front of her North Monroe Street home. She said the vehicle was locked and there appeared to be no forced entry.
Saturday — Someone between 5 p.m. Thursday and 11 p.m. Saturday vandalized a mailbox and vehicle windshield at the Boozel Road home of Daniel Christiana in Slippery Rock Township. The property damage was estimated at $420.
4 p.m. Thursday — An unknown thief picked the coat pocket of an 89-year-old Sarver woman in the Foodland parking lot in East Franklin Township.The elderly woman was placing groceries into her vehicle, police said, when a white female asked the victim if she needed help. While the suspect assisted, she bumped into the woman at one point.The victim, whom police did not identify, did not realize her wallet was missing from her coat pocket until she returned home. The wallet contained about $100, credit cards and the woman's driver's license.
8:05 p.m. Sunday — Apickup truck driven by Christopher Fritch, 34, of Mercer slid on an ice patch, traveled into a ditch and rolled onto its passenger side on Route 258 near Millburn Road in Springfield Township.Saturday — Michelle Loalbo of Millersville, Lancaster County, told police that her silver Tiffany bracelet was stolen Friday or Saturday from the Comfort Inn in Springfield Township.
