Mabel Pauline "Polly" Gorencic, 89, of New Castle Street, Slippery Rock, died Friday at the Autumn Care Center in Harrisville.

She was born Feb. 13, 1921, in Claytonia to the late Frank and Mary Legan Gorencic.

She was a cafeteria worker at Slippery Rock University, retiring in 1981.

She was a member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Slippery Rock.

Surviving are one sister, Mary Jane McGowan of Slippery Rock; one nephew, Tom and his wife, Betty, Holmes also of Slippery Rock; and a number of other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Frank "Gallagher," Edward, John and Joseph Gorencic; and one sister, Anna Holmes.

<B>GORENCIC</B>— Visitation for Mabel Pauline Gorencic, who died Friday, March 5, 2010, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 670 S. Main St., Slippery Rock, with Father Kevin Poecking of St. Peter's officiating.
