Rockets get payback
Slippery Rock’s boys basketball team improved to 10-11 on the season, topping host Greenville 55-51 Tuesday night.
The result avenged SR’s 67-54 loss to the Trojans three weeks ago.
John Sabo led the way with 22 points, including 14 in the second half for the Rockets, who close the regular season at home Friday against Grove City.

Swimming
Natalie Double (200 IM, backstroke) and Grace Olshanski (50, 100 freestyle) both won a pair of individual events in a 115-53 victory over Oil City Monday night. The win moved the Rockets’ record to 11-0 this season.
SR’s boys dropped an 87-52 decision to the Oilers. For the Rockets (1-10), the 400 freestyle relay team of Connor Wallace, Viktor Zahn, Cody Hartle and Kevin Bowser turned in a winning time of three minutes, 49.14 seconds. That effort was nearly three seconds faster than the District 10 qualifying standard.
Both Slippery Rock teams will compete Thursday at Farrell.
