12:16 a.m. today — Clifford J. Hicks, 29, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, 21-year-old Patience Wolfe, during a domestic dispute at the couple's Hazel Avenue home. Hicks was placed in the Butler County Prison pending arraignment on a charge of simple assault.Today — Police cited Loretta Dessecker, 56, of Karns City for hit-and-run stemming from a crash about 3:40 p.m. June 11 on West Brady Street.Tuesday — An unknown vandal overnight slashed the lining of a swimming pool in the 100 block of Standard Avenue. The lining sustained several large cuts. Damage was estimated at $500.Tuesday — The tires on a pair of vehicles and a trailer were slashed at a home in the 200 block of Brown Avenue. One tire each was cut on a car and a sport utility vehicle parked behind the house, and one tire was cut on a trailer parked in a nearby alley. Damage was estimated at $255.
Monday — Someone broke into a car at the East Main Street Presbyterian Church parking lot and stole a garage door opener. The theft happened between 11:30 a.m. and noon.Thursday — An unknown thief between 2:30 and 5:30 a.m. broke into two vehicles at a home on Superior Street and stole a global positioning system device, an MP3 player, a cell phone charger, loose change and a brown leather bi-fold wallet that contained credit cards and personal identification.
4:40 p.m. Tuesday — Keith A. Forsythe, 25, of Eau Claire is accused of attacking his wife, 21-year-old Mercedes Forsythe of Slippery Rock, during a domestic dispute at a Marigold Lane home in Brady Township.The suspect, who is charged with simple assault, fled the home before troopers got there. Troopers searched for but were unable to immediately find Keith Forsythe. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.8:30 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Samantha L. Barnhart, 18, of Butler struck an embankment on Frazier Road in Jefferson Township.2:45 a.m. Saturday — Michael L. Snow, 36, of Clintonville, Venango, was arrested for driving under the influence at Stamm Road and Route 8 in Slippery Rock Township. Police also cited Snow for driving an unregistered vehicle, failing to notify authorities of a change of address and not wearing a seat belt.
1:24 p.m. Monday — A 52-year-old Indiana County man died after he intentionally jumped off the Graff Bridge in Manor Township.The man, who police did not identify, fell up to 200 feet and landed near Garretts Run Road. He reportedly had parked his vehicle on top of the bridge that spans the Allegheny River and connects Manor and North Buffalo townships over Route 422.The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Armstrong County Coroner's Office. His death was ruled a suicide.
June 15 — Police charged Brendon A. Wooldridge, 20, of Grove City and Patrick D. Barkey, 18, of Volant in connection with the May 16 theft of clothing items at Gear Race Wear in Pine Township. Both suspects worked at the store when they allegedly swiped the clothes. Both are charged with theft.
