1:57 a.m. today — A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle on Main Street in front of the Butler County Courthouse. The victim, whose identity was not available this morning, was flown by medical helicopter to an unknown hospital.Butler police and firefighters and Butler Ambulance Service were called. Apolice report was not available this morning.7:43 p.m. Tuesday — Police had to use a Taser to subdue Robert McAleer, 27, after going to the suspect's West Quarry Street home for a disturbance call.Officers found McAleer allegedly intoxicated and screaming at a neighbor. When officers tried to take McAleer into custody he resisted and was Tasered.Police said while trying to arrest the suspect, Virginia Fridley, 21, who lives at the same home, interfered with officers.McAleer was arraigned on charges of resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail. Fridley is charged with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.Monday — Police charged Walter Scott Kradel, 27, of Center Township for violating a protection from abuse order for allegedly making repeated calls to his ex-girlfriend at her North Sixth Avenue home. Kradel is charged with indirect criminal contempt.7:32 a.m. Oct. 31 — Ac ar driven by Richard Hempfling, 58, of Butler struck the rear of another car at West New Castle Street and 13th Avenue. The other driver, Reuben Pink, 34, of Butler was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for unknown injuries. Police said Hempfling was cited for careless driving.
Wednesday — Police filed charges against Timothy F. Osche, 30, of Butler for allegedly stealing items from the rooms at the Lowrie House on Stirling Drive. The thefts occurred in September when Osche was an aide at the nursing home.Osche is charged with theft and receiving stolen property. In a separate case, also filed Wednesday, he is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after he was found with the contraband Oct. 16 while still working at the nursing home.Wednesday — Police filed charges against Kylee Nicole Anthony, 18, of Butler for allegedly lying to police about a purported assault.Anthony in September told police a former boyfriend punched her in the stomach at the Butler Vocational-Technical School. Investigators said the report turned out to be unfounded. Anthony is charged with false alarms to public safety agencies and false reports to law enforcement authorities.7:35 p.m. Tuesday — Nicole Winters, 27, of Butler swerved her car to avoid a deer and struck a utility pole on Comfort Lane. Winters suffered minor injuries.3:11 p.m. Monday — Cars driven by Kelly Kirk, 24, of Butler and Paul Steighner, 76, of Saxonburg collided on New Castle Road hill. A passenger in Steighner's car, Dorothy Steighner, 76, of Saxonburg, suffered minor injuries.11:17 p.m. Saturday — A Jeep Wrangler was videotaped driving on the newly sodded football practice fields at Butler Intermediate High School and Butler High School. The truck caused severe damage by doing "doughnuts" on the turf.Police are studying the video and asking for anyone with information to call the Butler Township building.
7:34 a.m. Wednesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by David McLaughlin, 19, of Glenshaw, Allegheny County, struck the rear of a pickup truck on Route 173 near Forta Drive in Pine Township. The collision forced the pickup, driven by Evans L. Plummer, 49, of Slippery Rock into the back of a car driven by Kerry L. Biondo, 35, of Slippery Rock.McLaughlin was cited for careless driving and following too closely to another vehicle.
3 p.m. Oct. 28 — A car driven by Amber Buzard, 17, of Sligo struck the rear of a sport utility vehicle at Route 68 and Carwick Road in Toby Township. The collision forced the SUV, driven by John P. Scott Jr., 22, of Greenville, into a car driven by Ashley N. Barger, 17, of Rimersburg. Buzard was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
12:58 p.m. Wednesday — AButler County man was hurt in a two-vehicle crash at Route 422 and McConnells Mill Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.Andrew D. Wilson, no age given, of Clearfield Township suffered minor injuries when his car was struck by a car driven by Beau D. Smith, no age given, of Volant. Smith was cited for two unspecified traffic violations.
