CRANBERRY TWP — Police say a Chicora man tried stealing about $370 worth of merchandise from the local Lowe’s and assaulted employees while trying to get away.

Timothy J. McCullough, 22, is accused of trying to take two DeWalt 4-Tool, 18-volt combo kits from Lowe’s on the afternoon of July 29.

After passing through a barricaded area and passing all points of sale, McCullough tried leaving the store, police reports state.

Employees confronted McCullough and a brief struggle occurred. McCullough allegedly grabbed and pushed the employees and then fled after pushing his cart over.

He entered the rear passenger seat of a Toyota Avalon sedan that was waiting for him, and fled the area.

However police arrested him after identifying the sedan’s license plate number.

McCullough faces two felony charges of robbery and conspiracy, misdemeanor charges of retail theft, receiving stolen property, simple assault and conspiracy.

His bail is set at $5,000. He will be arraigned in county court on March 14.
