Grace Scott Heist

Heist

I am saddened to inform of the passing of my dear mother, Grace Scott Heist, on Sept. 20. She graced us with 93 years of unbountiful energy and a will to live that our gracious Lord had bestowed on her.

She will live on in spirit as she has now transcended from this earth to a heavenly beginning and now walks hand in hand with the Lord Jesus Christ Our Savior for all eternity.

Born June 6, 1916, in Allegheny County, Pa., she was the daughter of Dain C. Scott and Anna Mae Seibert.

She was a member of the Deer Creek United Presbyterian Church of Gibsonia.

She was a hairdresser and worked with and supported her husband in his and their own businesses endeavors.

In her later years, she brought great joy and comfort to her friends at New Day Day Care Center in North Palm Beach, Fla., where she was the head greeter until she fell ill in 2008.

She lived at the Heartland Health Care Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and was well respected and thought of at the time of her passing.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Wayne L. Heist, who died in 2001.

Grace is survived by her loving daughter, Carole Gillespie Cius and her son-in-law, John Cius, of North Palm Beach, Fla.; and the Heist families of Deland, Fla.

HEIST — Interment for Grace Scott Heist, who died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, will be at the Deer Creek United Presbyterian Church Cemetery at a date to be announced.
