2:28 p.m. Thursday — Someone stole a parking meter head from the city's Diamond Lot.
Wednesday — Police filed charges against a Washington County man for driving a vehicle without a device to prevent him from driving while intoxicated.Korby Halfast, 36, of Centerville was stopped on Route 19 about noon July 28 in a pickup truck that was pulling a dump trailer.Police found that Halfast was previously convicted of driving under the influence and was only allowed to drive a vehicle that was equipped with an ignition interlock device. His pickup did not have that.He also is charged with driving a vehicle without an inspection sticker, driving a vehicle with insufficient brake linings, and not having with him his medical card, which is required of anyone driving a commercial vehicle.
Thursday — Jarek Shankle reported someone trying to enter his apartment. There was minor damage to the front door but entry was not made. Anyone with information is asked to call police.Thursday — Patrick Rodgers, 18, of Grove City was arrested for aggravated assault after striking Aaron Johnson, 18, of Grove City in the back of his head and face. The victim was taken to Allegheny General Hospital to be treated for head and facial injuries.Monday — Jeff Uber, 45, of Grove City reported that between midnight and 3 a.m. someone removed scrap metal valued at about $100 from the basement of his home.Monday — Michael Hanrahan, 48, reported two solar yard lights were stolen from his residence at 518 Stewart Ave. The lights were taken between Aug. 2 and Aug. 4. Anyone with information is asked to call police.Monday — Perrie Jones, 20, of Transfer was charged with receiving stolen property stemming from an incident on June 13.Aug. 1 — Samuel M. Grossman, 25, of Harrisville was arrested for receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of an automobile. The arrest stems from an incident Feb. 4 at 400 North St., Grove City, where a truck was stolen from the driveway.
8:42 p.m. Friday — Alexander C. Fuellgraf, 19, of Butler was charged with driving under the influence after allegedly riding an all-terrain vehicle on East Airport Road in Penn Township. Joshua R. Lark, 20, of Valencia was a passenger on the ATV and was charged with underage consumption.2:50 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Edward T. Smietana, 85, of Butler and a car driven by Jordan L. Luchkiw, 18, of Butler collided at the intersection of Route 8 and West Sunbury Road in Center Township. Smietana and passenger Eva S. Smietana, 80, of Butler suffered minor injuries. Luchkiw and passenger Robert E. Werth, 18, of Butler suffered minor injuries. A second passenger in Luchkiw's car, Kaylie J. Daum, 18, was not injured. Everyone was wearing a seat belt. Edward Smietana received a citation in connection with the crash.10:10 a.m. Friday — An ATV rolled while being towed by an SUV along Byron Center Road in Butler Township. The rider of the ATV David E. Houser, 52, of Emlenton suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Grove City Medical Center. The driver of the SUV, Terri L. Houser, 52, was not injured.4:07 p.m. Thursday — A late-model, champagne-colored Buick sedan caused a crash along Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township when it illegally crossed the median and headed north. A tractor-trailer driven by Raymond A. Kemery was unable to stop and jackknifed, colliding with a disable minivan on the side of the highway. No one was injured. Anyone with information on the sedan should call police at 724-284-8100.7 a.m. Thursday — Someone stole two plastic stop signs and damaged another sign and a concrete bench valued at $700 at Brandywine Village in Connoquenessing Township between 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday.2:53 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Lewis A. Muccio, 34, of Mars crashed along Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township. Lewis was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries.8 p.m. Monday — Madalyn Page Somple, 19, of Butler was charged with theft after she was invited to a woman's home to style her hair and allegedly stole a Louis Vuitton purse, a cell phone case and Coach earrings from the home of Michelle Ball on Stoney Run Road in Center Township. The items were recovered by police.
11 p.m. Wednesday — Someone broke into a car belonging to Garrett R. Bromley of Stoneboro while it was parked at Hoss's on Route 208 in Springfield Township and stole $20 cash while causing $200 in damage to the vehicle between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. Wednesday.8:10 p.m. Tuesday — Someone entered a garage along Lee Road in Springfield Township belonging to Daniel Bruce Kromer, 38, of Grove City and stole a shotgun, a rifle and a Husqvarna chain saw between 10 p.m. Aug. 2 and 8:10 p.m. Tuesday. Anyone with information should call police at 724-662-6162.11:25 a.m. Tuesday — Christine M. Cusick, 36, no known address, is wanted by police after she allegedly stole food from Sheetz in Pine Township and fled on foot. Anyone with information on her whereabouts should call police at 724-662-6162.
