Trojanettes beat Derry, 63-17
Alayna Rocco bucketed 16 points as North Catholic’s girls basketball team raced past host Derry, 63-17, Thursday. Anna Waskiewicz and Sarah Loughry poured in 13 points apiece and the Trojanettes only allowed 10 points over the final three frames.
Knoch 53, Freeport 30 — Four Knights’ players scored in double digits as they beat the Yellowjackets in a Section 1-4A matchup.
Freeport’s Melaina DeZort led all scorers with 15 points. Knoch’s Hattie McGraw totaled 11 and Megan Vasas, Nina Shaw, and Naturelle Ewing 10.
The Knights (11-6, 6-2) play Derry on Monday.
Karns City 49, Cranberry 17 — Emma Dailey had a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double and the Gremlins smothered the Berries on defense — not allowing them double-digits in any quarter.

Swimming
Gracie Olshanski (200-yard freestyle, 50 freestyle), Mollie Massella (100 butterfly), Natalie Double (100 freestyle), Maddy Gauselmann (500 freestyle), and Ann-Katherine Burns (100 breaststroke) all placed first in individual events as Slippery Rock’s girls swimming team downed Franklin, 165-163.
The win pushes the Rockets’ record to 7-0.
On the boys side, Slippery Rock lost, 116-43. Connor Wallace (50 freestyle, 100 freestyle) won individual competitions.
