Bartley 50th anniversary
Art and Jean Bartley of Valencia will celebrate 50 years of marriage Sept. 2 with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Valencia Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, Valencia.
The former Jean Quinn married Bartley on Sept. 4, 1956, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Valencia.
They have four children, Doug Bartley of Wheeling, W. Va., Cis McCandless of Mars, Tim Bartley of Valencia and Joni Raisley of Butler.
They also have 13 grandchildren.Mr. Bartley retired in 2000 from his job as a telecommunications contract engineer. He is mayor of Valencia, treasurer of the Valencia Historical Society and a life member of the Valencia Volunteer Fire Department.Mrs. Bartley retired in 1999 from Mars High School, where she worked as a guidance secretary. She belongs to the Valencia Historical Society and is an elder at Valencia United Presbyterian Church, of which her husband is also a member.
