William E. Potsubay

Potsubay

William E. Potsubay, 84, of Hilliards passed away at 6:02 a.m. Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

He was born March 10, 1926, in Hilliards. He was the son of the late Joseph Potsubay and Nellie Lux Potsubay.

He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He served in Germany as a staff sergeant with Company F, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Division. He enjoyed attending the 4th Division Army reunions.

He was a member of the Hilliards Methodist Church.

He worked for Michigan Limestone for 16 years and retired in 1988 from the Social Security Administration with more than 30 years of service.

He enjoyed his family, hunting and fishing; and in his earlier years, he enjoyed playing softball.

He is survived by one daughter, Karen Lutz of Slippery Rock; one son, David A. Lutz and his wife, Cindy, of Volant; one daughter-in-law, Ginger Potsubay of Eau Claire; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Pierson, Jodi Saez-Lutz, Jamie Hill and David, Clarissa, Christine, Kendra, Wade J. and Grant Potsubay; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Potsubay, who passed away May 31, 2000; one son, William J. Potsubay, who passed away Jan. 23, 2010; one-son-in-law, James Lutz; and an infant brother.

<B>POTSUBAY </B>— Friends of William E. Potsubay, who died Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, will be received at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Lewis, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the North Washington Cemetery.
