7 polling places in county changed by election board
Seven Butler County polling places have been changed.
The county board of elections, which meets during county commissioners meetings, on Wednesday voted to make these changes:
• Cranberry Township East 1 is moving to the Victory Family Church at 21150 Route 19. Its former location was the Cranberry Township Fire Station.
• Cranberry Township East 2 is moving to the Grace Community Church at 9160 Marshall Road. The old polling place was the Hope Lutheran Church.
• Cranberry Township East 3 will be at the Hope Lutheran Church at 8070 Rowan Road. The former site was the Cranberry Township municipal gym.
• Cranberry Township West 5 now will be at the Cranberry Township municipal gym at 2525 Rochester Road. The former location was St. Ferdinand Church.
• Marion Township will move to the Epiphany Church Hall at 141 Middendorf St. The old polling place was the Marion Township Fire Hall.
• Oakland Township will move to the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church at 200 Faith Way, Fared Drive. The old site was the Oakland Township Municipal Building.
• Butler City 4-1 will move to the former Knights of Columbus Hall at 232 E. North St., The old site was the First United Methodist Church.
Shari Brewer, director of elections, said that voters affected by the changes will be notified by mail.
Also at the meeting, the commissioners:
• Awarded a contract for the renovation of the tennis court at the Eau Claire Community Park to Voelker Paving of Butler for $49,680.
• Reappointed Harry Boben of Butler and Jim Opalka of Butler to the Butler County Airport Authority advisory board for five-year terms ending Sept. 30, 2020.
