Mars girls score runaway win over New Castle

Alexis Cashdollar paced the Planets with 15 points, Vita Vargo added 12, and Olivia Donnelly 11 as Mars beat New Castle, 70-25. The visitors could only muster nine points in the first half and Mars led by 25 at the midway point.

Mars had a 36-9 lead by halftime and limited New Castle to one point in the fourth quarter.

Karns City 59, Slippery Rock 10 — The Gremlins led wire-to-wire while the Rockets struggled offensively here. Chloe Fritch bucketed 17 points for Karns City and Brooklynn Taylor added another 10.

Greensburg Salem 31, Freeport 29 — Melaina DeZort had 13 points, but the Yellowjackets fell short in a section matchup. The game was tied at 21 entering the fourth period.

Keystone 48, A-C Valley 24 — Mackenzie Parks recorded half of the Falcons’ points, but A-C Valley fell to 0-14 on the season. They’ll play Moniteau at home on Wednesday.
