ZELIENOPLE — A West Beaver Street house will soon become a center for administrative offices for the Passavant Community.

Borough council Thursday night approved Passavant Lutheran Senior Life’s plan to relocate its foundation office to the vacant, single-family home at 300 W. Beaver St.

“Quite frankly what I think we have is a pretty good design,” borough manager Don Pepe said. “It’s going to be a design that’s helpful to them and helpful to us.”

Rocco Mastrangelo, corporate director of construction and facilities, gave council updates to the design of the new office.

Some changes include pulling back the hedges to have a better view and moving the entrance to the west side of the building toward Jefferson Street.

Oak trees on the property will be saved from being cut down. However, pine trees near the electrical lines will be taken down as a safety precaution.

“This should all work out pretty nice,” Mastrangelo said.

Council members praised the office’s design, saying it matches the design of other houses there.

Senior Life is a retirement community that offers services such as independent living, assisted living and nursing care.
