Donald S. Kostecky, 66, of Eagle Mill Road died unexpectedly Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born May 30, 1942, in Youngstown, Ohio, he was a son of the late George W. and Anna Lenyk Kostecky.

Donald worked for the past three years as a dockworker at AVI in Butler. He previously had worked at Pullman Standard for 20 years as a machinist until the company closed. He then worked as a pipe fitter for Keystone Pipe, followed by 15 years as a machinist for Trinity Industries in Butler.

He was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian.

His wife, Lillian R. Kalan Kostecky, whom he married Jan. 4, 1969, survives. Also surviving are a stepson and his wife, James S. and Lisa Harris of Portersville; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Richard (Linda M.) Kostecky of Butler; two sons, Donald S. Kostecky Jr. and his wife, Amy, of Butler and John W. Kostecky of Colorado; four brothers and their wives, George and Judy Kostecky of Butler, Edward and Linda Kostecky of Masury, Ohio, Robert and Irene Kostecky of Toledo, Ohio, and Richard and Linda Kostecky of Butler; and a sister, Evelyn Kostecky of Youngstown. Seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

<B>KOSTECKY </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Donald S. Kostecky, who died Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian.
