Voices rise

I read this quote from T. S. Eliot: “Last year’s words belong to last year’s language, and next year’s words await another voice.”

Let us take a lesson from this man, and let us be the voice of the coming year. Let it speak of love of God, family and country. Let it praise our Creator for the land of the free and the home of the brave. Let our voice pledge allegiance to this beautiful place we call home and tremble with pride and awe as we sing our national anthem.

Let our voice shout out the good times in our history, but also state that the bad times happened, and we learned lessons from them. Let our voices in the new year discuss our differences and reach compromises with love, kindness and respect as we recognize our diversities as being citizens of the best country on earth, and may our flag continue to fly high and respected.

I believe, as our voice is heard, hope will fill our hearts, pride will be restored and the U.S.A. will continue to be one nation under God with liberty and justice for all.
