Friday — Mark Baptiste reported the theft of more than $900 worth of tools and $120 in cash from his car, which was parked off Johnston Street behind his residence at 508 E. Penn St. between 10 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday. The tools stolen were a $430 Makita cordless tool kit, a $240 Bosch hammer drill and case, a $150 Makita grinder and a $100 Makita circular saw.Friday — Shadenia Carr reported the theft of a wallet containing about $30 in cash from her unlocked vehicle while it was parked outside 313 Negley Ave. between midnight and 6:30 a.m.4:37 p.m. Friday — A blue-and-white tractor-trailer hit the side of a Butler Transit Authority bus driven by Sherridyn Pistorius, 47, on East Jefferson Street before fleeing the scene.4:40 p.m. Tuesday — Tyrone Riddick, 47, of Butler was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued by the Venango County Sheriff's Office following a traffic stop on South Cedar Street in which Riddick was a passenger.11:36 a.m. Tuesday — A Waste Management recycling truck driven by Derek Ruediger, 30, of Tarentum hit a brick retaining wall off Sundale Street. Ruediger was cited for fleeing the scene.

7:14 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Jessica Vitous, 17, of Portersville and a car driven by Michael Tumpa, 44, of Pittsburgh collided on Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township. Vitous was cited for turning left into the path of the other car.May 29 — Thomas C. Rob Jr., 31, of Butler was charged with theft of a motor vehicle after allegedly stealing a car owned by Joseph Stevenson of Slippery Rock Township that was parked along Route 8 and wrecking it in Westmoreland County.May 14 — Russell Shawn Miller, 44, of Karns City was charged with theft by deception after an alleged fraudulent attempt to sell equipment to Logan's Gun Gallery on North Washington Road in Washington Township.4:30 p.m. Thursday — An SUV driven by Philip Eonta, 88, of Ellwood City hit a pickup truck driven by Douglas Lample, 36, also of Ellwood City, stopped at the intersection of River Road and Mecklem Lane in Perry Township. Eonta received minor injuries. While Eonta was cited for not stopping at a stop sign, Lample was cited for driving with a suspended license.
