Thursday —Three separate bad check cases were filed against Tricia Ann Trubic, 41, of Butler, who is accused of writing the checks on an account closed “for a substantial amount of time,” according to a police report.Trubic allegedly bounced: a $140 check at Aaron's, Alameda Plaza on Aug. 17; a $9.92 check at Puff-n-Snuff, Greater Butler Mart; and a $72.10 check at Digital Technologies, Greater Butler Mart.She is charged with three counts each of bad checks and theft by deception.12:55 p.m. Tuesday — A 16-year-old boy was cited for starting a fight with another boy at the Butler Intermediate High School on Fairground Hill Road. Police did not identify the suspect, who is charged with harassment and disorderly conduct.
Wednesday — Police reported they are investigating the theft of a black bomber-style jacket from the MAP Dining Hall on the Grove City College campus about 12:45 p.m. May 2, 2011. The jacket has red and white stripes on the ends of the sleeves and on the collar and waist. The jacket also has “D'PHIS” on the back and “IKEY” embroidered on the left breast.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.Tuesday — Police named Chris Leppert, 19, of Grove City as the suspect in the March 26 paint ball attack of the Grove City police and fire stations. Leppert is charged with institutional vandalism and criminal mischief.
Wednesday — Police charged two men who were caught red-handed March 11 in a pickup truck parked in an area not unfamiliar to drug activity, according to court documents.Robert P. Hortert II, 25, of Butler and Dwayne R. Emerick, 26, of Clay Township are both charged with possession of a controlled substance.Police spotted the suspects seated in a pickup in the parking lot under the General Richard Butler Bridge.Sgt. Daniel Hines while speaking to the driver, Hortert, noticed what he believed was a fresh track mark on the man’s left arm, documents said.Hines said he also spotted a metal spoon and syringe behind the center console on the floor in the extended cab area.Later, police searched the truck and turned up two silver spoons, one that contained heroin residue, documents said.Wednesday — Police charged Bruce J. Goettler, 52, of Butler Township with driving drunk in a construction zone stemming from a one-car crash at 11:20 p.m. May 19 on Route 422 under the Route 19 overpass in Muddy Creek Township.Goettler was more than double the legal limit for alcohol and speeding, according to court documents, when he went around stopped traffic in the construction zone where Marvin Laurence Williams was working at the time, Goettler crashed his car into the overpass.He is charged with driving under the influence, reckless endangerment, not stopping at a stop sign and speeding through a work zone, a lane violation, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving and reckless driving.May 15 — Someone removed the lug nuts on the front and rear passenger side tires of a 25-year-old man’s vehicle at his Suburban Lane home in Slippery Rock Township.A police report noted that the vehicle was later driven during which its front passenger side tire and rim sustained minor damage. The vandalism occurred May 14 or 15.
